#Newton's Universal Law Of Gravitation

Newton was able to formulate the universal law of gravitation when he observed the motion of the planets around the sun.

Statement: 

                           Newton's universal law of gravitation states that everybody in this universe attracts every other body with a force which is 

  1. directly proportional to the product of their masses and
  2. inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.                              

Explanation: 

                                Let m1 and m2 are masses of two bodies A and B. The distance between the bodies is "r". 

                      Now, according to Newton's law of gravitation, the attractive force (F) between the two bodies are

  • directly proportional to the product of their masses and
  • inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.                              

Newton's gravitational law is universal law: 

                                                                                                        Because Newton's universal law of gravitation is valid everywhere in the universe. It is valid for everybody in the universe. In other simple words, it holds true for both heavenly bodies and terrestrial bodies. Also, it holds true for both true for both micro-bodies like sub-atomic particles and macro bodies like star, galaxies, or even black holes. In addition, the gravitational force is one of the most fundamental forces of nature. Due to this reasons, Newton's universal law of gravitation is called universal law.
